His Fantasy

In the olden days (2008 and beyond) Michael was only interested in watching any football game the Sydney Swans were playing. Then along came Fantasy Footy where he has constructed a team from the entire pool of the AFL players. Now every game is of great interest for the one or two players who may win him a round. Unless I can find a Husband Whisperer who'll convince him to give it all up, I will join the Fantasy Footy league in 2010.

Saturday Afternoon

Twit Twit Twit

Anyone else on Twitter? I signed up to see what all the fuss is about and now I have a collection of friends that are keeping me updated with what they are doing. Problem is it's kinda a one way street with my e-friends. Hugh Jackman, Jamie Oliver, Hamish Blake, Oprah, the Sydney Swans and Kevin Rudd are the only people I can find who I know. Oh, and Corey in Sydney. This morning Kev has shared with me that the dawn service in Canberra was very moving.

I don't do Facebook (under my real name) so I thought I might give the Twitter a go.

Anyway, being ANZAC day today we are heading off to Yum Cha in Chinatown. If you were on Twitter you would've known this information 3 minutes ago.

Save On Heating

On TV yesterday morning there were two separate ads for products that caught my attention. The ads were only spaced about 15 minutes apart and I did a double take to ensure they weren't comical.

At one point in the duvet suit ad the bloke was downing a beer with a facial expression snarling 'don't mess with me'. Anyone got blokes in their life that will be wearing one of these this winter?!

The Easter of Swings and Swims

We shared the sleepy, seaside town of Dunsborough with a few other holiday makers over Easter. A year ago the 4 day break would've consisted of breakfast in the middle of the day, a number of winery visits and trialling every cafe menu in town. The ammended version was relatively boring but enjoyable. We were both grateful the famous Bakery in town opened at 6:30am because one of us would wake with Angus and entertain him for 1 hour+ before we could 'go shopping' for a paper and almond croissant. Michael made me wake 'til after sunrise before I started walking the streets with AB in the backpack.

So every day we had multiple swings in the park and swims in the pool....fortunately two of his favourite things at the moment. He is a water baby and his swimming lesson skills wowed the poolside crowd.

We also cashed in on the opportunity to introduce him to the luxury of Lindt. To be honest he ate more of the garlic and chilli olives on the antipasto plate. I was so proud. The long drives were a little bit tedious with a bored back seat member communicating his mood with bubble blowing. His language has jumped a few levels in the past week as he added 'g' and 'd' to his sounds with loud and forced expression to boot. He has also added teeth numbers 7 & 8 to his collection. He's been so busy.

The Wonders of Photoshop

I am very appreciative for my new, base-level, Photoshop skills especially after the weekend wedding experience. I got a bit flustered on the day with 30 minutes to take photos in low light as the sun was setting. Anyway, enough of the excuses.

I had my last Photoshop class last Thursday. As in most Adult Education courses involving computers you get a wide, wide range of skills. Funnily enough the grandparents in the class outnumbered the youngens (I'm young) and frustrated me a little in how basic their computer literacy was. Here's an example of an exchange between a deaf tutor and one of the deaf class members;

Tutor: "Hold down the Shift key and click on the icon...."
Mature, mature age student: "What?! What did you say?"
Tutor: "What? Oh, Hold down the Shift key and click on the icon..."
Repeat the above lines 3 times...
Mature, mature age student: "I can find the Shift key but I can't find the Hold Down key..."

Anyway, on the last night things were moving painfully slow and I texted Michael telling him I'd be home early. Fortunately for me I stayed because the last tutorial was the application that makes boobs bigger and waists smaller with the click of a button. I now am convinced more than ever that every single picture you see printed in a magazine is a lie. Our whole world is augmented.

Going Solo

The boys are fending for themselves today as I'm photographing a wedding in Pinjarra. For me it's an exhuberant feeling of freedom as well as a wrench to be away. The weaning program starts tonight!

We had a practice photo shoot last week in the chapel. I love a bloke that's not shy to have a sipper cup clipped to his pocket.
