Friday Night Live

Here's what we do for fun on Friday night. This week "Crazy Allison" (not to be confused with "Crazy Aunty Alison") came and played her stuff. She was a hit but we didn't even advertise and the place was choca's. Nice for everyone except those behind the counter.

Glorias

Here she is pumping on a Friday night. Standing room only and a bit of live music in the corner to boot.

For free

Here I am showing off with my new hat stand. We went to the pub in Kincumber (country town) on the weekend to watch the Swan's pre-season game. As we were leaving I noticed this great, old hatstand outside the door. I asked and it was given to me.

Technology

I just realised that if you click on a photo you can view it virtually life-size!! How great is 2007?

Who cares about Valentine's...

....when you've got construction to fill that void in your heart? All the frames are up. We're heading out for another night of take away.

Here is a view looking from the new door from the current lounge into the hallway with window into the courtyard.

We got framed

A very exciting day. The frames arrived today after 24 hours of (good) torrential rain yesterday. Who ever thought you could get them made up in a factory offsite and then have them delivered?! I'm used to seeing Dad or Cameron collect 4x2's from roadside collections and make a house to fit the size of the wood they've scavanged! Both ways have value.

Little Hughie

Just to prove we aren't totally obsessed with our extension I've decided to post a few pictures of a very cute nephew. Here is lil' Hugh Campbell Barr when he inspected the ground works this week. Oh, and that's Matt - Hugh's chaperone.

As cute as can be.

Polished Off

Not heaps to see here other than the slab having its first polish yesterday. They'll finish the polishing the concrete at the end of the whole building process.

Slab Day

And there's the slab. Little Baby Hugh and Matt came over to have a look-see. As we face it, the kitchen will be on the left and the living space on the right. Matt is standing where the internal courtyard will be.

All the floors in the new section will be polished concrete so we decided we'd get it tinted to a darker charcoal gray. Maybe it will dry lighter or maybe this is the colour. Whatever, we are stoked.

These are the trucks that woke us up and lured Michael away from work for a few hours.

We brought in reinforcements.
