Ahoy Me 'Earties

'Find a theme and thrash is' is a motto I regularly default to.  Today someone mentioned the word 'pirate' and off we went.  Fortuitously we bought new (from Gumtree) sofas on the weekend.  They are on castors so we could roll them together and make a pirate ship.  There was a lot of "Aaarrrr's" being said even when I thought the role playing was long over.  We actually walked 3 blocks down to the supermarket and back with eye patches on.  Well, when I say "we"...

This is his trademark snuggle.  He always seems to have his arm wrapped around and holding on tight.  If he's unsettled he likes to hold hands with someone.

Pram Picnic

I had the idea a few years ago to organise a community picnic for the multitude of mums and bubs in our area.  I did a bit of advertising and sent the word out.  It was a great time...I met new neighbours and made new friends.  About 30 mums came with at least 1 kid each and the Facebook group has 60 members already.  Not sure where this is heading but everyone was asking for a regular gathering.  Stay tuned.

 

Nervous Fly Trap

We bought a book about Venus Fly Traps and AB is totally captivated by the concept of carnivorous plants.  Bunnings sold us a plant for $5.99 and the obsession was fanned into flame.

What could be more exciting than a captured cockroach during its first night on the back deck?  Since then a few lazy and "pesky flies" have been fed to the jaws of death.  It is so cute that AB decided that, despite what everyone else calls this plant, he will call it the Nervous Fly Trap.
