The Cousin Jigsaw

This was a hard goodbye to do - my friend and sista-in-law Sarah. She is cooking up a Barr cousin just 11 weeks younger than Lil' Bebe. This is her #2 so any questions relating to the unmentionable components of giving birth are not unknown to me. She's a goodie.

All things new

We now officially live in WA.  Another life transplant where you start again from the beginning.  I woke up this morning and realised there was nothing on my to-do list for the rest of my life!  Oh yeah, there is that May 1 thing but a bit of denial about labour never hurt anyone.  Michael started his new job today and celebrated with a whole new 'outfit' ("Since marrying Rachel I don't have clothes anymore, I have outfits").

We are moving to a serviced apartment tomorrow for a few weeks until our house is available.  We have rented a house in the city smack-bang between the two siblings.  It is a 200m walk to either my brother or sister's.  We are closer still to a cafe strip and Perth's version of Chinatown.  We always said we'd love to live inner city at some point in our life - just for a little while and just for fun.

I'm conscious that I'm in a luxurious situation where the last few months of this incubation will be unadulterated nesting.  Michael has a lot more adventure ahead of him and will have to work hard to get established in this new role.   There will be more to it than just choosing new ties.

There is way more to this move than fortunate coincidence so we wait ready for all the new things that cross our pathway.

Thanks William

What do you do when you are moving interstate, feeling pregnant & poorly & have removalists invading your home? Go shopping.

This morning I went shopping with my friend Kate. Before she arrived to pick me up Michael reminded me that in my first few weeks as a Sydney-sider I went shopping with Kate. Three years ago she had a newborn and we went Christmas shopping. I came home and announced "I've got a friend in Sydney and her name is Kate". Michael was very relieved.

Anyway, we went shopping together today to historically remember our past. She's a goodie. She told me about her shopping trip with son William (Yr 2) a week or so ago. They were walking through the centre and Will spotted someone collecting money for the Cancer Council. "Mum, mum! We HAVE to stop" urging her to take notice of the collection point. Will is familiar with the stories of 2 people with cancer - both of them brothers of his mum's friends. He was insistent that a donation should be made. I had more than a few tears in my eyes when they decided as a family to make regular donations to the Cancer Council, nominating research into Multiple Myeloma as the target. Cameron's name is listed as a potential beneficiary of the research.

We are upheld and supported more meticulously that we can ever know.
