Just Stuff
We are just ticking along as usual. Our new neighbourhood has also brought with it a new mums' group - M next door with a 6 year old and 2 year old and S across the road with an 8 month old. So Tuesdays is Eighth Ave days and we walk a few steps to meet up for a cuppa and play. There are more kids in the street but we haven't got to meet them all yet. Our next door neighbours moved in the same week as us are settling here for the long term.
Jemilla is getting more gorgeous by the day (as you can plainly see). I was getting quite exasperated last week with her need to be held all day long and not settle in her cot. I bit the bullet and stayed home most of the week for some hard core routine and dedicated sleep training. She responded brilliantly and by day 4 she was totally trained. She now sleeps long in her cot, settles herself peacefully and is bright and smiley when awake. It also means I get 3 hours in the middle of the day all to myself as they both sleep at the same time. Happy Mummy. (Not to brag but she is also sleeping 12 hours at night without a feed). Such a different experience than Angus who taught us many things at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5am to strengthen our characters. He's made up for the pain with laughter. At night he'll kiss mummy and Jemilla good night and then insist on also kissing a close by inanimate object - the washing machine, the overhead light, the fan, the newsreader on TV etc.
Dad came and hung a bunch of pictures on our walls this week so we are nearly, fully, totally moved in. Michael's cubby project in the back yard is at lock up stage with a few more hours yet of construction until we can host a cubby warming party.
