Ok, she's back
I've been so cranky that this blog has suffered over time. We've just had a whirlwind couple of weeks and i've neglected her so.
We've been to Perth and back for Elizabeth's 30th (sis in law) and John's (boyfriend in law) birthdays. That saw family fly in from Sydney, Melbourne and Port Hedland. We cooked up a storm for days on end and partied hard. Such a great trip.
A surprise inclusion was the proposal my sister received half way through our time. Yay and yay!! Mr John Bain will marry Ms Carmel Harris on Nov 5th and we are stoked. He's a top lad and they are great for eachother. I'm being bridesmaid and so that means a new frock. (Like I wouldn't be getting one anyway!)
In Perth we visited Freo prison and did a tour of the 1km of underground tunnels the prisoners cut at the turn of the century. Amazing. For part of the tour you get into little boats and paddle through the water. See picture below.
Work is hard to come back to. Trying to invent new ways of managing staff that help them do what I want them to, ie. work. It's constant uphill and tires me out. But it's ok. Just starting to develop the community development side of my role which will be very fulfilling. My coach at Mars Hill Cafe in Parramatta has been invaluable. He's been doing this for years and I've got heaps to learn about life and coffee from Kev.
Michael's work is also a bit up and down. Restructuring and retrenching on the near horizon. He's so good though he won't let it get him down.
Michael just made me a hot chocolate and I love him.
We are going on the CSIRO diet tomorrow. It's time. Too many bad things going into our mouths and too much of it. Cleanse, cleanse, cleanse. But I'll drink the hot chocolate first.
My first attempt at getting back on the blogging horse has been shaky. I have no photos to share as I left my camera in the boot of the car in Sydney when we went to Perth. Silly Billy.
I just want to say "I'm Back!"
