Happy New Home

Just after New Year we packed our house into boxes and moved some of them to the front rooms and some of them down the street to our rental.  Let the renovations begin.  The old got decommissioned with a mural in the toilet...

He can't decide if he's Donatello, Michelangelo or Leonardo.  At least he know his 'Old Masters'!

Finished!

On the first day in the new place it was 44 degrees...

...and the one aircon was on Struggle Street...

...but we worked things out.

The mess is incredible.  He can throw food three metres across the room...and it's SO funny.

What our rental lacks in grass it makes up for in underwater activities...like watering.

"Mum, I never want to get my hair cut short on the top because I have to twirl it when I get tired or happy"

Mum's childhood bed with a quilt made and gifted to us by adopted grandmother, Claire.

Years ago I bought this boys 'blouse' from an op shop. Never been out of the packet, let alone worn.  It has a David Jones label from the 50's I think. Poor little bubba got dressed up and posed up for this.  It was a weird sensation of taking photos very similar to my dad's baby photos.

His favourite thing - cuddling pillows and playing on the bed. It's a sure antidote to grumblebum behaviour.

Sweet little dancer

Turning on of the lights.  A wonderful 'wow' moment.

Santa turned up like we hoped he would.

Christmas morning brownies and strawberries.

Her favourite place.

Harrises and Bains all together

Think Aunty Carmel got it right choosing this one.
The mandatory family photo.

The mandatory post-lunch water play.

We had a small family adventure to Lake Leschanaultia after Christmas.

There's always a passenger who doesn't pull their weight.

The first few years of this guys life will be spent keeping him safe in water.  He can't get enough of it.

The next 20 years of this girls life will be spent protecting her from unsavoury male companions.

Those new specs have come in very handy at the lake. Danger averted.

Sometimes you can't get enough icecream.

Around the house with our toy brother

First swim of the season. Maybe the only swim of the season. How much palava is it to do a beach trip?!

One of the only pieces of evidence that MB participated in Movember for the first and last time.
Our annual HaSh Brown (Harris Shiner Brown) reunion at Kobeelya in Katanning. Always sleepless, always too much food, always another slightly unusual family trait is uncovered. We always laugh so much but also remember those in our family who have left us - Glen, Glen Jnr, Paul and Cam.

Nothing better than a massive wooden staircase to keep the babysitter on high alert. As if he wasn't demanding enough.

As if he wasn't cute enough!

Oversized playground built by farmers with a John Harris concept of OH&S.

The need for speed.

The lounge room - people talking, playing games, practicing piano and sleeping simultaneously.

Water play for grown ups.

Down time.
