The Final Countdown

We are now in a serious countdown until we welcome Number Two into our world. Michael has just informed me that I'm moving out of the "Special Care Zone" (involving daily foot massages, extra-curricular husband help, more take away meals, increased budget for air con, etc) to "Childbearing Preparation Zone". I'm yet to discover what is involved but I've got a maximum of 7 days to find out. I think he's thinking of extra sleep, carbo loaded food and a few special outings over the weekend. I've decided a haircut, a Gold Class movie and maybe a few extra showers (can't get in and out of a bath these days!) are in order.

We will post photos and news as it happens but until then it's over and out...

New Digs

The nesting mode has really been taken to the next level this week as we purchased a Perth home. Can't wait to move in a few weeks after baby arrives and start our new phase as a family in the suburbs. Here is a link to a Google map....click on the + icon to see the front of the house on Street View.

After living for 2 years in the city with all the convenience of cafes, Chinatown, parks, takeaway, shopping and walking to work (for MB) we will be sad to leave our little street. Apart from the great location and space, literally half my mother's group lives in this short street and we love having such friends so close.

The new house has good space and a great backyard for little people to exert energy in. It's also convenient to train, cycle way and bus for MB to choose his preferred mode of transport to work.

We have been well provided for and are so grateful for a home to grow up in...all 4 of us!

Cashing in the Christmas Gift

New Year's Day

In lieu of not really buying presents for eachother at Christmas, Michael still wanted to recognise the family in some way. So we started our new Christmas tradition of a family event every year. There are rules - everyone has to be able to participate and everyone has to 'ave a go at the activity we organise. So this year it was kite flying on the foreshore in Nedlands. Kites and food provided. Wind did the righty by us and we were up, up and away.

Picnic on the Foreshore

Crustless chicken or lamb sandwiches was on the picnic menu - wrapped up in kite-shaped paper, tied up with string. 'Think of a theme and thrash' is my life motto. Mum needed a little bit extra and we found her a chocolate bar called "Perky Nana" for energy. Dad's kite flew really well - with and without the string! - so he went for a long walk to retrieve the sucker...and deserved a sitdown.

Some cute shots of the kiddies today. Please don't judge me for feeding Angus Burger Rings. It's genetic...he loved them!
