Technical difficulties

Our computer at home will not boot up. This means the AFL and Sydney Swans website has had half the number of hits over the last 5 days. This means I've had my sister bid for items on ebay I know were finishing last night. I won it, thanks for asking. This also means I can't upload any pictures from the weekend. We went to 'Ladies Day' at M's old AFL club. The day when the club president is the timekeeper, the sausage sizzle coordinator and the champagne server. Photos to come.

We are jetsetting over the next few weeks - going to Mudgee (country NSW) for the weekend and hopefully scouring a few homestead clearance sales while sipping local wines. Later off to Perth to have 5 sleep-ins in a row. Don't try and stop me.

By my calculations...

Hit the garage sales on Saturday as you already know. Could I manage any more bargains in my collection you may ask? Here's my resounding 'yes' defence:

Bought 2 very gorgeous dainty, vintage handbags with 'all the fruit' ie. sequins, beads, clasps, etc. Don't know what to do with them but for a dollar it would be Bargain Hunter Crime (BHC) to leave them in a someone's driveway. Fast forward two days and I'm walking passed a Vintage Collectables shop in the city on Monday and what should I see but 2 almost identical bags. One was priced at $325 and the other at $650. So, either I calculate the savings and pocket this amount or flog them on ebay and see what I end up with.

This is a man who knows what I like and is willing to do anything for me. Rust, wood and old furniture sends me weak at the knees. Posted by Picasa

You little, absolute, beauty. Not sure if all the listeners out there will love this as much as we* do. An set of glass front drawers from an old general store, or somewhere. Oak and in a great restorative need but nothing a mouse sander can't give. The drawers are glass fronted with a panel just behind the glass. So, this will soon be our pantry AND exhibition space for interesting objects. The drawers are all on tracks/rollers so they glide in and out. Ikea would be impressed. How much you ask? $600? $400? No! $40.00 at a garage sale just down the road. (* Michael only took 5 minutes to see things my way and now he's outside ripping the laminex and chipboard top off it with gusto) Posted by Picasa

Morning! Breakfast on Saturday morning. I don't know which is more gorgeous - the view or that hunk of spunk. C'mon, he poured me a bowl of Nutrigrain to prove it. Posted by Picasa

And why wouldn't we love coming up here for the weekend? The Barr's Beach house at McMaster's beach. Posted by Picasa

Watching the Swans game on Saturday night. I bought a Santa suit for $5 at the op shop that day. It also doubles as a Sydney Swan Supporter Suit. It's all in the name of Irresistibility. Posted by Picasa

Here's my boy. Fish and chips on the beach with not a cloud in the sky. This is living. Posted by Picasa

This is our favourite moment in the morning drive...sunrise over Sydneytown from the top of the Gladesville bridge. Every morning Michael says "Wait, wait, wait, THERE - LOOK AT THAT. BEAUTIFUL!"  Posted by Picasa

Would you like water with that?

We had a loverlie weekend up the coast. It would be better to blog with photos which I will do tonight. Hit a few garage sales. Buy of the day was a tv for $5. All in the name of Ashes-in-bed viewing. Had a sleep-in 'til 9.30am and ate BBQd food while gazing at the ocean. Shared fish'n'chips with some seagulls on the beach. That was pretty much the weekend.

Now it's the week and things will be a-changin'. It's detox week. No coffee, tea, fat, carbs, proteins, GI....nah, just kidding. Need to cleanse though so on the menu this week is roasted vegetables and a glass of water on the side. My weight gain is not off the scale but I do enjoy doing my top button up.

Looking forward to Australian Story tonight with Brian & Bobbie. I will watch with my mind open and encouraging.
